Due to the very positive feedback from those who attended the recent Open Information Evenings both in Clane and in Limerick, Clane Fertility Clinic is continuing to run an open information evening for anyone who may have an interest or query about fertility issues and fertility treatments.

Their next evening is planned for Wednesday 24th August.

The evening will open with a tour of the clinic at 1830hrs. This will be followed by　a short introduction given by their Consultant Fertility　Specialist.

Dr. Fabian Ward, Snr. Embryologist will also speak about what happens within the Clane Fertility Clinic laboratory.

Their Nurse Specialist, Ms Martina Kelly, will speak with regard to the types of treatment available at the Clane Fertility Clinic.

They will have an information 　package for all attending which will include a DVD and related information brochures.

2. Aim to eat at the recommended 5 servings of vegetables and fruit per day.

3. Eliminate alcohol and caffeine.

4. Consume some good quality form of protein with all your meals.

5. Go organic-try to consume organics foods as much as possible to get more nutrients and to reduce exposure to environmental toxins such as pesticides.

6. Eat a good breakfast every morning and do not eat after 8:00pm.

7. Aim to eat a little something every few hours in order to keep your blood sugar levels balanced.

8. Make sure you are consuming some whole foods that are high in fibre.

9. Take a high quality multi-vitamin and mineral supplement as well as ensure that you have an adequate intake of Essential Fatty Acids (such as Omega 3’s).

10. Eat sitting down, take your time, chew your food and enjoy your food!

Celine Dion and Mariah Carey used Acupuncture to get pregnant

Celine used in vitro fertilization (IVF) to become pregnant with her first child, Rene-Charles, 9.  It worked the first time around.  Ten years later and after a failed attempt, Celine decided to receive acupuncture during and after her sixth IVF treatment, which is when she became pregnant with the twins.  “she still has acupuncture treatments once a week”, says Rene.

Jani White is the national coordinator of the AFN UK (Acupuncture Fertility Network UK). Her expertise is in the area of successfully integrating Acupuncture and Assisted Reproductive Technologies such as IVF. About one in six couples will experience problems with infertility and at any one time it is estimated that about 5,000 people are now undergoing assisted conception treatments in Ireland’s fertility clinics.

Jani White is an acupuncturist, doula, antenatal and fertility teacher and has over 20 years experience of UK maternity and gynaecology services. Jani has supported hundreds of couples through their pre-conception, assisted conception, pregnancies and childbirths.

She runs a pre-conception and birth support centre in Oxford, and she also practices in London from the offices of consultant obstetrician Mr. Donald Gibb FRCOG. Jani teaches Obstetrics & Gynaecology foundation courses throughout the UK and Europe.
