At Fertility Edge we know that travelling the IVF route can be a stressful, challenging and demanding journey and we are here to help support you in a number of ways. Preparing properly for assisted fertility treatments is comparatively more important than if you are trying to conceive naturally. Our treatment programmes have been created based on evidence based protocols and are designed to improve your chance of success. As well as maximising your fertility, our support also helps to smooth out some of the bumps in the road such as easing the symptoms associated with IVF medication and alleviating stress. According to recent clinical research studies, receiving Acupuncture treatment in conjunction with IVF can significantly increase the success of IVF procedures.
Fertility Edge provides the following IVF support programmes:-
1. Pre-Conception IVF/ICSI Treatment
Male Fertility:
This is an excellent opportunity for men as it addresses common male factors associated with infertility. The treatments we employ have the ability to increase the parameters of sperm motility, morphology and count, thus aiding fertilisation of eggs and leading to viable embryos. This entails weekly acupuncture treatment for the 8 weeks leading up to IVF/ICSI.
Female Fertility:
This entails weekly Acupuncture treatment (including treatment at the time of transfer). Ideally we recommend that you seek Acupuncture treatment at least 3 months prior to egg retrieval. While 3 months may seem like a long time, especially after a lengthy battle trying to conceive, receiving support and preparing for IVF in this way can actually save time and money by providing a stronger foundation for success. This is because Acupuncture for fertility improves your overall reproductive health: it helps you produce higher quality eggs which leads to more viable embryos, it helps your body to regulate hormones and it thickens the uterine lining making it ripe for implantation.
Where your time frame is less than 3 months we will develop a program to suit your time horizon that maximises and supports your chance of success. When you come in to see us for your initial consultation we will discuss where you are in your IVF journey and will advise you on ways we can provide support.
2. Pre and Post IVF Transfer Treatment
We provide pre and post IVF transfer Acupuncture treatment. This involves Acupuncture treatment before and after your transfer. The treatment before transfer takes about 40 minutes and the treatment after transfer takes about 30 minutes.
