Question:- What can I do right now to enhance my fertility?

Answer:- Nurture yourself.

When you nurture yourself, you nurture your eggs. Your eggs are your reproductive potential and they are within you right now, waiting for the right opportunity to arise. Life is about an exchange of energy. Nature has programmed us to want to reproduce, we just have to supply the necessary building blocks as well as create the proper environment for our bodies to do that.

Nutrition

NutritionOne of the best (and tastiest) ways to assist this biological imperative is to eat in such a way as to create this environment of fertility. We tend to think of food as being like the petrol we put into our cars to make them run, however, food is so much more than that. The right quality foods can change your body/car on a cellular level into a fertile Ferrari. Improper foods and eating can turn your body/car into a clunker where the body rusts, the engine starts to stall, your wipers break and the radio doesn’t work. Good nutrition is essential for optimal living at every stage of life: for an egg, sperm, foetus, newborn, toddler, child, teenager, adult and the elderly.

Fluids

FluidsStudies have shown that alcohol and caffeine intake can have a detrimental effect on fertility. Intake of these substances should be limited.

Sleep

SleepGetting adequate and regular sleep is essential to optimise your body‘s ability to repair and rejuvenate itself. A good night’s sleep can be the difference between coping and chaos. Try going to bed at the same time every night and waking up at the same time in the morning. This can get your body into a regular rhythm and regulate your hormones.

Relaxation & Stress Reduction

Get back to nature by spending some time outside, watch funny movies that make you laugh, listen to uplifting music. These are all stress reducing activities which are greatly restorative not only for your body, but for your soul and spirit as well.

Connection

ConnectionIt is important to stay connected to other people, and with your partner in particular. Experiencing fertility problems can often lead to shutting down and feelings of isolation. There is a great level of comfort and peace when you are connected with people sharing the same experiences.

Exercise

ExerciseWe’ve all heard the saying “everything in moderation”. This is certainly true when it comes to exercise and fertility. You want enough exercise so as to be reinvigorating, but not so much as to be depleting.

The Air We Breathe

AirSmoking can, of course, be a major hindrance to fertility. Your body can also take in toxins from the air, so you may want to re-evaluate certain products like the cleansers you use.
